Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute was founded in 1898.
The lives and activities of the world-known scientists-Dmytro Mendeleyev, Igor Sikorsky, Sergii Korolyov, Yevhen Paton, Borys Paton and many others were closely linked with our university.
Cherishing the traditions of profound fundamental training and its harmonious combination with practical engineering and technical developments of graduates, Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute strives for providing high level training of Bachelors, Masters, Doctors of Philosophy (PhD), Doctors of Sciences (DSc) under the present-day conditions.
The university has 16 educational faculties, 11 educational and scientific institutes, more than 15 research institutes and other scientific departments (design bureaus, engineering centers, etc.). There are 10 academicians and corresponding members of the National Academy and branch academies of sciences of Ukraine, more than 2.5 thousand professors, associate professors and teachers, more than 22 thousand students and graduate students, including foreign citizens from more than 40 countries of the world. Igor Sikorsky KPI provides education at the level of world-renowned universities both by state order and contract form of study, implements programs of two diplomas with universities in Germany, France and other countries.

Igor Sikorsky KPI cooperates fruitfully with 112 technical universities from 36 countries of the world as well as international organizations (EC, EU, UNDP, UNESCO, UNIDO, WIPO, NATO, EDNES, ICSU, CODATA, KOICA, JICA, IAU, EUA, IEEE, Salzburg Seminar); many well-known companies (MOTOROLA, MICROSOFT, CISCO, SIEMENS, FESTO, SAMSUNG, INTEL and others), take part in international educational and scientific projects and programs.
